Insulated Coats - Ultimate Protection for Your Herd

When the temperature drops, you want to know your llamas and alpacas are truly protected. Our USA-made insulated coats are built to last a lifetime - literally. We have coats on our own farm that are over 30 years old and still going strong!

These are the thickest, most durable coats on the market, and they're designed with your animals' health and comfort in mind.

Why Our Coats Are Different:

We use 400 denier nylon with super thick sherpa fleece lining because your animals deserve the best. While other manufacturers use polar fleece, our sherpa fleece has a denser fiber that provides superior insulation and protection from extreme cold.

The water-resistant (not waterproof) nylon outer shell is crucial for your animals' wellbeing. It repels moisture while still allowing the fabric to breathe, preventing the dangerous sweating that can occur with non-breathable waterproof fabrics used by other manufacturers.

Built to Last:

Heavy-duty seat belt webbing and sturdy plastic clips keep the coat securely in place around your animal's body and chest. A Velcro strip across the chest flap ensures a snug, comfortable fit. These aren't coats you'll replace every few years - they're an investment in your herd's protection for decades to come.

When measuring your animal for the proper size, the LENGTH ("L") is measured from the base of the neck to the beginning of the tail...along the topline. When measuring the GIRTH ("G") of your animal measure just behind the front "armpit" from the lowest point of their chest on one side up over their back to the lowest point of their chest on the other side. You do not need to measure all the way around as our coats to not go all the way around their chest/belly in order to maintain an open ventral "window" for self-regulation of their body temperature. The straps are long and will go all the way around with plenty of adjustment room.

Sizes are
  • Extra Small - 25"L x 30"G - $59.75 (5-8 mo. alpacas and 2-4 mo. llamas)
  • Small - 29"L x 33"G - $67.00 (yearling to smaller adult alpacas and 4 mo. 12 mo. llamas)
  • Medium - 34"L x 41"G - $74.50 (adult alpacas and yearling - 24 mo. llamas and some smaller adult llamas)
  • Large - 39"L x 48"G - $79.50 (adult llamas)
  • Custom-Size - (Call with your measurements and we can give you pricing for you customized coat. We will need the length measurement (nape of neck to base of tail), and girth measurement (measure from lower edge of front armpit on the right side up over the back to the lower edge of the front armpit on the left side). We can make coats for just about any species and size of animal. Please give us a call for more information.
    These may also be personalized with a monogram for an additional $25.00.

  • Our Coats are made to last! Machine wash on gently cycle, cool water. Hang to dry. We have had many of our coats here on our farm for over 20 years!

    Due to supply chain issues with fabric the color choices currently available are as follows: Red, Royal Blue, Burgundy and Purple. (if you choose IN STOCK COLOR, your order will likely go out sooner than if you specify a color) We hope to be able to offer our regular full range of colors very soon. Please check back or give us a call if you have a special color request.

    • Strap Extenders are now available so that you can order one coat with a pair of strap extenders (for the girth of your animal). This allows you to buy one coat and just adjust the straps instead buying another coat down the road!

    ADD A MONOGRAM FOR $25.00. Monogram can be up to 18 spaces (includes spaces between words). You can have the monogram placed across the rump or on the left side or right side. Please specify in the note section if you want all capital block letters or capitals and lower case letters, what color thread you would like and where you would like the monogram placed (Right Side, Left Side, or Rump). We can monogram longer words, however there will be an additional fee. Please contact us for longer monogram information and price. PLEASE ALLOW UP TO 4 WEEKS FOR MONOGRAMS.
